Being in Alignment: May 8, 2016

When I think of alignment, I think of the word Unity. Being one. Being Whole. One of my favorite mantras is, “I’m healthy, whole and complete, from my head all the way down to my feet.” As I repeat this mantra, I start at my head and release the energy all the way down to my feet. To me being in alignment means to be healthy, whole, and complete.

I was driving down the road a couple weeks ago and noticed that my car was a little wobbly and would occasionally veer off to the right. It was an uncomfortable ride. I took it in to the dealer to get the car aligned and the wheels balanced. Wow, what a difference. My car was back to riding smoothly and staying on course. It was an eye opener for me because I realized that I am the same as the car. When my physical, mental, or spiritual dimension of optimal health is out of alignment, I have a wobbly, bumpy ride. It takes all three being in good alignment for me to stay on course. Just like my car, it is normal at times to get out of alignment. The important part is that I recognize it and take the necessary measures to correct it. You can go to church until you’re blue in the face but if you are neglecting your physical or mental well being, you are out of alignment. The same is true if you go to the gym everyday until your muscles are bulging and beautiful. Your spirit can still be empty and void. You and your beautiful muscles could be in for a wobbly, bumpy ride unless you get in alignment spiritually.

Being out of alignment manifest itself in many ways. Being out of alignment physically can lead to disease and discomfort. Being out of alignment mentally can lead to unrest and lack of peace and happiness. Being out of alignment spiritually leads to a feeling of void and emptiness.   We must give time, energy, and awareness to all areas for good alignment and a feeling of optimal health.

It takes a daily conscious awareness for me to stay in alignment. Recently I found myself focused on my physical health but I was neglecting to feed my spiritual being. I was miserable. I felt the void and emptiness. Although I was making strides in the area of my physical health, I was not happy and at peace.   After a couple weeks of being out of alignment, I said enough of this. I incorporated spiritual health back into my awareness and wrote out a plan to get back in alignment.

I hope you will be inspired to think about a few things.

  1. How are you taking care of your physical body?
  2. How are you taking care and nourishing your spiritual being?
  3. How are you taking care of your mental health?
  4. Do you feel out of alignment in any of these areas?

I can’t wait to hear your feedback. We can all help each other become more aware and grow on this journey.   Have a great week. See you next Sunday for the weekly Sunday blog.

Peace and blessings
