Belly of The Whale

fullsizeoutput_1e7dHaving been raised in a traditional Christian church, I am reminded of one of my favorite stories from the Bible. It is the story of Jonah and the Whale. The premise of the story is to follow spirit’s guidance so you don’t end up in the wrong place. In the story, God (Spirit) instructed Jonah to go one way and he went the other. As a result, he ended up in the belly of the whale.

How many times have I turned left instead of right and ended up in the wrong place?

We are all spiritual beings in a human body. I’ve chosen far too many times to live from the human part of myself as opposed to the spiritual part of me. And just to emphasize, when I’m talking about spirit, I am in no way talking about religion and all their man-made organizations. We are ALL spiritual beings.

I guess the belly of the whale has a purpose or we wouldn’t end up there. I have learned lessons in that space for sure. The issue becomes when we stay there too long or we keep going back. We keep repeating the same pattern that ends us up in that same belly.

Even as a small child, I have always felt I was called to greatness. That calling has been stalled and set back due to my decision to go my own way as opposed to the way spirit was leading. Once again, listening to the human mind and not the spirit.

I believe we are all called to greatness but it seems a small percentage of us actually reach our full potential because we spend too much time in the belly of the whale. Too much time in the human mind.

I am finally at a place where I am working my way out of the belly. I have my upper body out of the mouth and I am using my legs to climb the rest of the way out yet another time.

I am ready to move closer toward that greatness. I am ready to live more to my fullest potential. I am ready to follow the guidance of spirit.

Are you in the right place or are you in the belly of the whale?

Make the decision today to get out of that belly and march towards your greatness.
